Easy (and Free!) Crocheted Men’s Scarf Pattern

    December 28, 2019
This is the easiest crocheted men’s scarf pattern out there. I recently made 21 of these scarves for young men, most over 6-foot tall. Because …

Three and a half out of five sweaters finished. Th Three and a half out of five sweaters finished. They've morphed into being birthday sweaters instead of Christmas sweaters because that's more manageable for now. Gives me four extra months. 😜
Explanation of absence: (I mean, besides the fact Explanation of absence: (I mean, besides the fact that it's 2020, and who even knows what's going on anymore?) I've begun a new jumper, and we've begun a new journey. We're heading back to the United States, heartbroken to be leaving France. However, it will be a healthy thing for our brood of young ones, and hopefully our last transition for a good long while. We'll be sharing more in the future, but for now, we're sucking the marrow out of life, as Thoreau would say, while we're living here.
Doing a little prereading for one of my kids' hand Doing a little prereading for one of my kids' handicrafts this year. He's going to be studying rope making, knot tying and splicing, and other kinds of cordage. This makes my fiber-loving heart happy.

I haven't posted a photo here in a while. I got ou I haven't posted a photo here in a while. I got out the knitting again today. Now that I'll be able to source yarn online again, I need to order yarn for two more sweaters. That means I'll need to finish up the second arm on this sweater. πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈπŸ˜‚ Also, I have no shame wearing my fall trousers, because it's 2020, and I might as well wear my happy clothes to make it through, right?!
Still here. Had to unravel nearly all of my work o Still here. Had to unravel nearly all of my work on my most recent sweater, because I was off by one or two stitches, and it messed up the color patterning extensively. Sigh. No beautiful progress pictures, so here's a beautiful wild dog rose that popped up near my mailbox two days ago.

Crafting and gardening are at war with each other Crafting and gardening are at war with each other this month, so I feel like I'm not making progress in much of anything. This is our first time gardening in this soil, and it's a beast to work through. I've used so many muscles that I didn't know I had trying to hoe through the clay-like dirt. It will all be worth it. In the meantime, I'm nearly done with the baby's sweater. Just have one more arm to go and then stitching it all together. #granniesandrowsgardens
Began work on this little sweater again, because t Began work on this little sweater again, because the other one is nearly finished and to the point where the kids are begging to know what it is. I've teased them that it's a hedgehog's purse or a snake's sleeping bag, but they're not buying it. Making Christmas presents a surprise for five kids when you're around them 24 hours every day is difficult. So instead of one finished sweater, I have one 90% finished sweater and this one is about 50% done. And I've got a bright yellow one waiting in the wings. Glad to have at least one more project to do, as it's becoming more and more difficult to procure anything other than food and household supplies. #whatimworkingon
A blanket from when I was a baby. Trying to find t A blanket from when I was a baby. Trying to find this exact pattern, because now three of my kids have loved this baby blanket (sticking fingers through the little holes), and I'd eventually like to make some blankets to match this one. I've found a lot of similar patterns, but not this exact one yet.

Set myself a deadline in a little over two weeks f Set myself a deadline in a little over two weeks from now to finish this sweater. Now that I'm feeling more like a person again, I've been able to get a bit of knitting done here and there. Our garden is another story. I should really have started our seeds several weeks ago, but having a baby and then having company for a couple weeks just sort of took over. This weekend, the seeds will be started.
Made this crocheted blanket in 2004/2005. Got the Made this crocheted blanket in 2004/2005. Got the pattern probably from some Yahoo group or crochet forum. It was before images online really became a major deal, and the pattern didn't come with one. Now I want to make it with a different color scheme and have no idea where to find the instructions. Sigh. #crochetproblems #finishedobject #crochet #crochetpattern

Okay, couldn't resist starting a second project. Y Okay, couldn't resist starting a second project. Yesterday was not a great day to start a project. I can't count with my kids around because my kids are blessedly verbal. I had to start and restart this sweater/jumper six (or more times.) It's going much better today, because I'm just in a stitch repeat and not requiring increasing or decreasing today.
If you ever find yourself in need of a decrease or If you ever find yourself in need of a decrease or increase calculator because your stitch count doesn't come out evenly for decreasing, this website is invaluable.
This is the only project I have going on now. Mend This is the only project I have going on now. Mending pile is decimated. Chair cover is finished. I have supplies for other projects. I normally have four or five projects at a time (and read about ten books at a time) so this feels a little odd. At this rate, my "hospital crafting" may get done before I make it to the hospital. πŸ˜‚πŸ™„. Do you normally work on one or several projects at a time? #craftersofinstagram #knittersofinstagram #yarnlove #yarnaddict #babysweater
We were given free chairs when we got here, and I We were given free chairs when we got here, and I didn't know what to do with them. They were free for a reason, right? πŸ˜‚ I do plan on recovering them with fabric this summer, but I was given this yarn and decided to make a little throw cover for one of them so the...lack of aesthetics...wouldn't bother me so much for now. Yes, it's a little like a 1970s grandma's basement couch. But it's so much better not having the vinyl accessible to kids who are tempted to pick even more off. I've only temporarily affixed the throw blanket on this one so that when I get it reupholstered, I can use the throw blanket for something else.
